Have the Hap-Hap-Happiest Christmas, this side of the Nut House!

How in the world did our parents always make our Christmases so happy and so wonderful.  We all know they didn’t have a lot of money, and I am sure there was also something looming in the background, but no matter what we always had the best Christmas every year!

The past two months, we have had our garage treated for termites, $300, fixed a broke dryer, $130, and now we have no heater in our house, $$$.  Our furnace went out yesterday! We decided to put in a whole new unit, but with all the money I made at the Craft show and the past few sales, every bit of it is going to this new unit!!  “Extra money” is bologna!!  There is no such thing.

Please pray for B’s family as they are also going through a very tough time right now.

So, this brings me to my point, I am feeling very overwhelmed right now, but I know if I don’t keep faith and be thankful that I have all my family surrounding me, and our health, then I will turn into the Grinch.  I know everything will work out because it always does, it just feels really good to get this off my chest!!  So, to get me and everyone else in the spirit, here are a few pictures from past Christmases!  Enjoy!

Things have been major busy around here…

Besides trying to get ready for the craft show, I have been trying to shop for Christmas, work, keep a house going, and spend time with my family!  Needless to say, I have been busy.  Here are a few pics of Miss Gracie

Hello everyone!

Man, a ton of people have been sick lately, it has hit a few people in my family already.  I know eventually the flute will hit our house, but I am trying to keep it away as long as I can.  We are all taking our vitamins, which Gracie loves her gummy ones.

Since everyone felt great and not a single birthday party was last weekend, we went to the Pumpkin Patch in Newcastle.  We had a great time, it was freezing and muddy, but Gracie still had a ball.  Brian’s niece, Kambree went and his Aunt Karla met us there, and they had a ball.  Walking through the corn field maze, and then the hay ride, and of course, they got to pick out a pumpkin.  Then Karla took the kids, and Brian and I went to eat lunch and went to Target.  Where I got a Starbucks coffee and just browsed through the isles, it was nice.

I am so ready for this type of weather, it is been so nice, cuddling up on the couch under the blanket.  Although, much to everyone’s surprise, I have been freezing, I guess my hormones changed after Gracie, because I am cold all the time, so this winter might be pretty rough on me.  I hear it is supposed to be a bad and cold winter!

I need to get some shopping days planned for Christmas really soon.  Although, am I the only one who is going to have a tight, and I mean tight Christmas this year??  I am just so afraid of what the future holds, that I don’t want to spend a lot of money.  Brian and I decided to do stockings for each other and one gift with a price limit.  The rest of the Christmas money goes to Gracie.

Is anybody watching the OU/Texas game this weekend?  It starts at 11:00 and from what I hear, ESPN has picked it as their game day, so everyone in the world can watch OU get slammed by Texas.

Well, I better get back to work, I have been pretty busy this week, plus I am on call, so that always make for a long week.

Friday, Thank the lord!

I am so glad that today is Friday and this week is over.  Gracie has been waking up 2-3 times a night, with her throat hurting.  Brian and I have been crabby all week, because we are both sleep deprived, and we want Gracie to feel better.  It has not been a good week at the Webb house to say the least.  Although, tonight is Gracie’s make-up birthday party!  So, I know she will feel better for a “pupcake” for sure.  She helped me make some Fancy Nancy sticks to put in the cupcakes and I am giving the little girls jewelry to dress up with!  She is excited that she gets to wear her Fancy Nancy dress, and roast marshmallows!  We have been just chugging along this week, just trying to make it through the day.  I actually turned off the radio this morning (very unlike me) on the way to work, and listened to the silence, and prayed the whole way here to work.  I needed to hear silence this morning and reflect on my attitude this week.  I hope that everyone has a great attitude this weekend, and has a great weekend, let’s hope it doesn’t rain, because we need to get out of the house!!

Brian and I will be celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary on the 25th!  We are going to OKC for a few days, maybe I can talk him into going to Affair of the Heart with me!  HA!

I know, I know…

I have been very busy the last few weeks at work, but I will try to be better at blogging.  We had a great Labor Day weekend, went to a family reunion, then went to the Wichita Mountains on Sunday.  We ate at Meer’s , which was an experience in itself.  We are making our monthly Target trip to get stuff for Gracie’s birthday party.  She keeps asking if her party is today.  I have to explain to her and show her on the calendar, “only a few more days!”

I got onto her last night and, she stomped off saying “You broke my heart”  What a DRAMA QUEEN!  Wow, this is going to be a great ride, right into her teenage years.  I got my helmet on :)

Hello!

We had a great weekend this past weekend, went to spend some time with my Mom on Saturday and we went to visit with my sister and her kids, we had a great time all day! Sunday we worked around the house, and Gracie went with Karen and Terry for a little while to visit B’s Grandma Joe. While Gracie was gone, I was making hair bows on the couch, and I heard a bird squawking on the front porch, and he wouldn’t quit and to be honest it was getting on my nerves, so B went out to see what it was, and it was a SNAKE!! OH MY LORD, that is exactly the reason why I live in town, to get away from these creatures. Apparently, they have been coming out of the woodwork, because Kenna and Tyler killed one on there porch two weeks ago, and two sets of my neighbor’s each killed one within the last week. WHAT IS GOING ON!!! There is not much in this world that I am terrified of, and snakes are not one of them, but that doesn’t mean that I have to like them. I took pictures of the snake if anyone wants to see them, let me know and I will post them on the blog. Brian threw it in the garbage, so I hope it doesn’t give the garbage men a heart attack today!

Gracie started back to gymnastics last night, and it was her first time to go into the gym by herself. She was so proud to walk in with her friend Haylee. They stayed in there for an hour, and I think I was more nervous than she was! She did great though!

Gracie Lou Freebush-Oh My Lord!

Ok, so last night, we were watering the yard, and Gracie and B were in the front yard telling me (in the backyard) how much to turn on the sprinkler.  I, of course, playing a joke on them, turned it up all the way and squirted them.  Gracie looked at B, and said “I am so pissed at Mom”  Of course she got into trouble for that, but she can stomping into the house, and said “Uhh, I hate my dad!”  Needless to say last night wasn’t a very good night.   Those words rank right up there with stupid and shut up, I can’t stand those words, especially coming from kids mouths.

This weekend, I am hosting a pampered chef party, so don’t forget!  The lady that gave us the Pampered Chef shower for our wedding is doing it, she is so sweet.  Going to Norman tomorrow to get some stuff, then I am sure we will come home and go swimming, or I just might go crazy, which ever I feel the need for first.

Have a great weekend!

This week...

This week has been crazy, due to Aunt KK is on vacation.  Gracie has been at a different house every day, but she is enjoying every minute of it.  She went to Aunt Shelly's on Monday and got to jump on the "trampletreen."  She had so much fun and can't wait to go back.  On Tuesday, she went to Aunt Angie's house, and got to play dress up and put on makeup with Addy.  Although, Tipsy nearly scared the poop out of Gracie, she still had a blast.  Yesterday, she spent some Daddy-Daughter time, and I think they both enjoyed the time together.  Brian said that they needed to do that more often.  Today, she is at Aunt Amie's house which, she always has so much fun there!  Tomorrow is My day!  We are going to the park, then to Lavana's to try on shoes, then to Angela's house to make cookies, and have a picnic, then she gets a haircut.  After all that, we have dinner for my brother's birthday tomorrow night at my Mom's house, which is always good food!  Don't know what the weekend has in store for us yet, but I am sure it will be great!

Oh yeah, be on the lookout for new pictures coming soon from my new camera!

Birthday weekend

Sorry it has been so long since my last post, but hey, I have been B.U.S.Y!!

This past weekend, we stayed at the Day’s Inn in Duncan for free.  We won free weekend stay, so we decided to take my birthday weekend and stay there.  We had good time, Gracie stayed with us Friday night.  We went swimming, ate junk food, went to the park, watched fireworks with Bailey and Savana.  Brian ended up sleeping on the roll-a-way that we got for Gracie, but he said it was comfy. Then Saturday, B took me out for my birthday dinner in Lawton, at Kobe Japanese Steakhouse.  It was really good, but the service stunk!  We had a really good weekend all in all!  We found out that Gracie has to have her adenoids and tonsils out, we will find out about tubes tomorrow or the next day.  Hopefully we can get the surgery scheduled ASAP, because I am tired of her being sick.  The next few weeks it seems like the calendar is filling up quickly, but one thing I do know, is I need a vacation day!!  Maybe I will get to take one soon!

4th of July Weekend

Boy, let me start off by saying that I needed to come back to work, to rest.  We had so much fun last weekend!  It started off on Thursday night, we went to Karmen’s to pop fireworks, Gracie was a little scared of the loud noises, but she sure enjoyed the gigantic sparklers we bought for her.  Friday, was B’s birthday, he turned 39!  Gracie and I stayed at home that day, and cleaned house, then we went swimming that afternoon.  Kara came down that evening and we all had a great visit.  Saturday morning was the 4th of July parade, which was shorter than last year it seemed.  But Gracie still filled her Tinkerbell bucket with candy!  Then we all went to the park and walked around, and Emma got her face painted.  After that, we went back to the house, where everyone joined us for food and fun at our house.  The burgers were good, and the visits were even better!!  It was so nice to hang out with family and friends and not be rushed to go anywhere, and the weather agreed with us that day too!  Once the party was over, Gracie crashed, she was so worn out!  We waited around for the Marlow fireworks, but then a huge rain storm came, so we waited for nothing. All in all in was a great weekend, and I missed everyone who couldn’t make it!

I hope everyone has a great week!

Love, Gena

My Soap Box

Ok, So I am going to rant for a minute, because I am sick and tired of seeing all these news stories in the papers about babies getting killed and molesters getting early release from prison just to molest again.  I mean, seriously, don't have kids if you are going to kill them or let someone molest them.  This just sickens me to no end.  Why is it that if DHS takes the child from the home for abuse, they return them after the parents go to like 6 parenting classes.  REALLY??  6 classes and they are healed, I haven't been to any, but I certainly know better than to beat my child.  I slammed Gracie's finger in the door this morning, and I felt horrible.

Is it that the world is relying too much on medications or drugs (illegal) to get them by?  This past week, a few news stories broke, a man got beat up at the OKC bus station for his bologna sandwich.  Bologna isn't even good!  I can see if it was ham or turkey, but bologna.  Just Kidding!  Also, today, a woman got arrested for having sex with a man in return for a box of Frito lay chips.  She thought her stuff was ALL THAT and a BOX of chips!  The man admitted to having marital problems, but did he get arrested, NOPE, just her.  His name didn't even make it into the story, I wonder what his wife would have thought.  An 81 year old woman was raped and beaten while being robbed in her own home, a defenseless old lady, with no help.  The S.C. Governor, went on a "secretive" trip, that everyone was saying was to the Appalachian trail, he finally admitted to going to Argentina with his mistress, and his wife has known about the affair for 5 months.  FIVE MONTHS!!  and she has stayed with him.

Seriously, what in the world is wrong with people, and what does my child have to look forward too as she gets older, I am terrified for her.

Hello Everyone!

Man, it feels like forever since I posted anything.  I think since it is summer time, everyone is busy, busy, busy!  This past weekend was Father’s Day and we had such a good weekend.  We spent 90% of our time outside in the pool, or in the flower bed.  We went swimming all three days, we were all so worn out all three nights, I don’t think we moved a muscle when we hit the bed.  My mom came up Sunday morning and helped us plant bushes in our flower bed, which looks really good, as long as our hydrangeas don’t die.  Then, B and Gracie took a nap, while I worked on hair bows.  Then we made steak for dinner, which I think B is becoming a steak expert, they get better and better every time.  Gracie is just like me, she likes her steak with a little sour cream on the side.  She eats it up!  We bought Gracie one of those rectangle pools to swim in (we go next door if our neighbors are gone), we all three got in that on Sunday, and B & I got burnt from head to toe.  Gracie was lathered up with sunscreen, I guess I should have followed my own advice.

Either way, this week seems pretty busy starting out, but I guess I am just busy making hair bows and necklaces.  I do that after Gracie goes to bed, so I am up pretty late every night, at least until I fill these 5 orders.  After these are  filled, I will make some bows to go in down at Lavanna’s, then I will start on making up stuff for the hospital craft show, I might even do the craft show at the fairgrounds this year, we will see…

The 4th of July is right around the corner and I wanted to invite everyone over to our house.  We will go to the parade, which starts at 9:00, then go to the park, or back to our house, which ever you prefer, then we can have a cookout for lunch.  I will start planning a menu, so if you could let me know if you are coming, I will tell you what to bring.  It will be fun!  The fireworks in Marlow will be blown off at 10 pm that night, so if we aren’t  tuckered out from the heat we can walk over to the parking lot and watch the fireworks.  It will be fun!!  Come join us!

Never in my life...

The other day, Gracie and I had went to the store, as we were leaving, the parents and their child got of a car and started to walk in.  The child, who was probably around 2 or 3 didn't have any shoes on, walking around on a black top surface (it was around 90 degrees outside), let alone, she was going into a filthy store.  So, as I pulled away, I started talking to Gracie, saying that when she grew up and had kids (Yes, I was sounding like my mom), that I better not EVER catch her kids without shoes in public.  It is gross and unsanitary.  Gracie looked at me, plain as day, and said "Never in my life, me having kids"

This past weekend…busy!

This past weekend was a blast.  Friday night, Mom and Ron met us at the Relay for Life event in Duncan.  We let Gracie bounce in the moon bounce, eat pizza, play games and get candy, she had such a good time.  At the event, DRH had a booth, that they were raffling off a night’s stay at the Day’s Inn hotel in Duncan.  B and I bought 6 tickets, and I was notified later that we won.  So, a night out with my husband will be planned in the near future!  Saturday, Mom and Ron watched Gracie while B and I went to Norman.  We had a lot of running around to do, and it was nice to get away and eat a quite lunch together.  After we got home, Gracie and I went to see Lilly and Baby Cole, then went to the park.  After the park, we went swimming for about two hours.  Whew, I am not even to Sunday and I am worn out just talking about it.  Sunday morning, we got up and made our weekly trip to Wal-mart.  Brian went home to mow, and Gracie and I went to have breakfast.  We then went to Addy’s house to play for a few hours.  Gracie and I went home, she had some “quiet time” while I made some flip flops.  After that, we all went swimming for three hours.  Gracie is starting to kick her feet, and is getting brave in the pool.  She is jumping off the side, and sliding down the slide.  We had to get her a new swimsuit with the floaties in it, because her life jacket broke, and we can’t go swimming without it.  Brian bought her some Spiderman floaties to go on her arms, and we finally tried them out on Sunday, there were a few times that she was floating in the water by herself.  I am so glad she is not afraid of the water, but it makes me a nervous wreck, I am constantly worried that her face will go under and she will get scared.

I hope everyone has a great day!

“But Me Firsty”

So, Miss Gracie has been doing awesome at daycare, no timeouts, and we give her a treat and a sticker for every day she acts good!  Two days ago, when we were driving home, she asked if she could have a coke for her treat, so I took her and got her one, on the condition that she acted good for the rest of the night (did you know that those things are full of sugar :))  Anywho, she didn’t act good the rest of the night, so I told her no more cokes this week.  So, yesterday while we were driving home, she did get a sucker because of no time outs, but she started in on the whole coke thing.  I held firm, and said No, no more for this week.  She started wailing, saying, “But Me Firsty, Me Choking”, this went on for about 5 minutes, then she said, “Me Have too, me dying of first”  I got so tickled, but I still held firm.  No more cokes!  That girl, she is something else.

Today

Last night our electricity went off in the whole city of Marlow, from 11:45 pm until around 3:00 am, they had to replace a transformer or something.  Brian said he woke up when it went off and it was pitched black everywhere.  I woke up when it came back on, but fell quickly back to sleep.  One more day of work, it feels like this week has been full of Mondays, and I didn't even work on Monday.  I am taking Gracie to the doctor this afternoon to see if her cough is just allergies or what, we are on our fifth day of coughing her head off, and plus her nose started running.  Who knows, kids are always sick.

What a weekend!

This weekend was a doozy!  I had Thursday and Friday off last week to prepare myself for the sale of the century.  We had a garage sale on Saturday and we made over $2100.  We were so excited!  Gracie finally gets a swing set!  She said last night she also wanted a Dora pool.  I guess she is spending my money for me now.  Then Sunday was a day of rest, and Monday was a day for cleaning.  I definitely could have had a few more days off, but I was glad to get back in the swing of things.

Foot Spa Party

Oh, what a wonderful night I had last night.  I went to a foot spa party!  It made my feet feel great, and my heart full.  I had so much fun with my friends, talking and laughing, it was great to visit with each other.  Brian stayed at home with Gracie and I heard that they had a great time too!  Dad took her to Sonic to get her some Chicken Nuggets and a Sherry Slushy (Cherry), with a toy.  They read books in bead, watched Tinkerbell, did a puzzle, watched Scooby Doo, then played hide and seek until I got there, of which they were hiding when I came in.  It is so cute how little kids hide, with the little snickers from under the covers, and it made it even cute, that Gracie had the hiccups, and every time she laughed, she would hiccup, and I would say “where’s Gracie” and she would reply with a hiccup and a little snicker.  I love those moments!

Last Night

Last night was a pretty scary situation for me.  I headed to bed around 9:30 ish and decided that I would watch the first 10 minutes of the 10 o'clock news, as they tell you the most important at the first anyway.  As soon as it come on, I saw rotation by Rush Springs, which got me out of bed and dressed very quickly.  I think B and I had my car in the garage, and everything ready for the cellar in 10 minutes, along with calling all of our peeps (you are welcome, Kenna).  After we got ready, we carefully eyed the TV of where the storm was going, and Karen and Terry pulled up.  They drove in from Bray to get into our cellar.  About 15 minutes later, the storm was getting really close, Aunt Rita, Colby, his two boys, and their two dogs pulled up.  I went and grabbed Gracie and down to the cellar we ALL went.  (of course Terry and B didn't go, and Colby stood guard at the cellar door)  I think I needed a valium, this was the first real scare I have had since I had Gracie about a storm.  I used to be the one that would stand guard at the door, just watching the storm, because I was never afraid of them.  Well, since I have had Gracie, the storms and I don't get along very well.  I have become the biggest scaredy cat about the littlest things.  I feel like I have to protect her in every way, and a storm or a car wreck is something out of my control.  We spent about 45 minutes in the cellar, then returned to our house when we felt like it was safe.  Gracie got laid back down in bed, and started to doze off.  Then, here comes the hail.  I went in to scoop her up, and decided she was sleeping with us.  About an hour of feet in my neck and her head in B's back, I took her back in her room.  I thought all was clear, until 2:00 am this morning, when I thought the hail was coming through the windows.  Needless to say, I didn't sleep at all last night!  Hope everyone slept better than we did.
