Today

Last night our electricity went off in the whole city of Marlow, from 11:45 pm until around 3:00 am, they had to replace a transformer or something.  Brian said he woke up when it went off and it was pitched black everywhere.  I woke up when it came back on, but fell quickly back to sleep.  One more day of work, it feels like this week has been full of Mondays, and I didn't even work on Monday.  I am taking Gracie to the doctor this afternoon to see if her cough is just allergies or what, we are on our fifth day of coughing her head off, and plus her nose started running.  Who knows, kids are always sick.

What a weekend!

This weekend was a doozy!  I had Thursday and Friday off last week to prepare myself for the sale of the century.  We had a garage sale on Saturday and we made over $2100.  We were so excited!  Gracie finally gets a swing set!  She said last night she also wanted a Dora pool.  I guess she is spending my money for me now.  Then Sunday was a day of rest, and Monday was a day for cleaning.  I definitely could have had a few more days off, but I was glad to get back in the swing of things.

Foot Spa Party

Oh, what a wonderful night I had last night.  I went to a foot spa party!  It made my feet feel great, and my heart full.  I had so much fun with my friends, talking and laughing, it was great to visit with each other.  Brian stayed at home with Gracie and I heard that they had a great time too!  Dad took her to Sonic to get her some Chicken Nuggets and a Sherry Slushy (Cherry), with a toy.  They read books in bead, watched Tinkerbell, did a puzzle, watched Scooby Doo, then played hide and seek until I got there, of which they were hiding when I came in.  It is so cute how little kids hide, with the little snickers from under the covers, and it made it even cute, that Gracie had the hiccups, and every time she laughed, she would hiccup, and I would say “where’s Gracie” and she would reply with a hiccup and a little snicker.  I love those moments!

Last Night

Last night was a pretty scary situation for me.  I headed to bed around 9:30 ish and decided that I would watch the first 10 minutes of the 10 o'clock news, as they tell you the most important at the first anyway.  As soon as it come on, I saw rotation by Rush Springs, which got me out of bed and dressed very quickly.  I think B and I had my car in the garage, and everything ready for the cellar in 10 minutes, along with calling all of our peeps (you are welcome, Kenna).  After we got ready, we carefully eyed the TV of where the storm was going, and Karen and Terry pulled up.  They drove in from Bray to get into our cellar.  About 15 minutes later, the storm was getting really close, Aunt Rita, Colby, his two boys, and their two dogs pulled up.  I went and grabbed Gracie and down to the cellar we ALL went.  (of course Terry and B didn't go, and Colby stood guard at the cellar door)  I think I needed a valium, this was the first real scare I have had since I had Gracie about a storm.  I used to be the one that would stand guard at the door, just watching the storm, because I was never afraid of them.  Well, since I have had Gracie, the storms and I don't get along very well.  I have become the biggest scaredy cat about the littlest things.  I feel like I have to protect her in every way, and a storm or a car wreck is something out of my control.  We spent about 45 minutes in the cellar, then returned to our house when we felt like it was safe.  Gracie got laid back down in bed, and started to doze off.  Then, here comes the hail.  I went in to scoop her up, and decided she was sleeping with us.  About an hour of feet in my neck and her head in B's back, I took her back in her room.  I thought all was clear, until 2:00 am this morning, when I thought the hail was coming through the windows.  Needless to say, I didn't sleep at all last night!  Hope everyone slept better than we did.

Mother’s Day and Gracie’s 1st Trip to the Zoo

I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day, because I certainly did.  Brian took off on Friday and we went to the zoo.  This was Gracie’s first time at the zoo and she was amazed.  She loved seeing all the animals, and I think Brian was more excited than she was to go :).   After the zoo, we went to Norman, and Brian and I went to have sushi for lunch, while Aunt Karla watched Gracie.  After lunch, I went to have a pedicure, which was so relaxing!  Brian and I went to BJ’s to eat dinner, and I had some wonderful salmon!  Saturday, we made our way back to Marlow, then went to have lunch/dinner with my mom.   After that, Gracie was exhausted from the past two days, so she got a bath and went to bed.  Sunday, Gracie told me Happy Muffer’s Day (at least that it what it sounded like), that was the best!  We had fish at Karen’s for lunch and roast for dinner at Grandma’s with Papa Mike.  It was a FULL weekend to say the least, but it was a great one!

I hope everyone had a great day themselves, and at least got to relax a little!

My daughter Gracie

As soon as I pulled in the driveway last night, Gracie was waiting on the porch. She was telling me that she went all day without any timeouts. Then she said " You don't have to spank me Daddy!". I think I was more excited than she was. She is really something.

This past weekend.

This past weekend, I walked 1 mile in the rain for March of Dimes.  I didn’t let Gracie walk, and she was very disappointed with me, because she was so excited to go walking.  It is usually a 3 mile walk, but since it was pouring, they shortened it.  I was soaking wet by the time I was done.  Either way, it was for a great cause, and our team raised over $3300, the second highest in Stephens County.

After the walk was over, I went to get Gracie and took her to work with me for a while, as I was on call this weekend.  I had to do backup tapes.  It only takes about an hour, but it is just a hassle.  Gracie and I then went over to Kenna’s house and played with Lilly, Cole and Jacob.  Gracie was fairly good, until she got the anaconda grip hold on Cole.  She was just hugging him, but a little too hard.

Anyway, Sunday we really didn’t do anything, besides laundry and clean house.  Made a really good supper, and all slept well.

This Friday, weather and good health permitting, we are going to the zoo.  This will be Gracie’s first time at the Zoo, and she is so excited to see the tigers.

Gracie

This morning we are going to get our stitches out!  She is so excited!  She gets to come to work with me this morning until her appointment, which that is always an adventure.  Anyway, I took her by McDonald's this morning to get a hash brown, and the lady that handed us our food, god help her, she was a looker.  Anyway, she was wearing a doo rag and Gracie screamed from the backseat, "Pirate"  She watches Peter Pan quite often.  It was so funny, the lady just cracked up, I couldn't have pulled out of there any faster.
