TGIF

Can you believe it is suppose to snow tomorrow?  Brian is working tomorrow and we are hopefully going to stay inside where it is warm. 

We are getting our electrical problem fixed today at our house.  If it is not one thing it is another, so much for leveling the house.  After all is said and done we are probably going to have to rewire the whole house.  The wiring is the original wiring from the 40’s, back when they took a wire wrapped it around a glass breaker, then strung it down to the next one.  Brian found two live wires, hotwired together by a cutoff extension cord the other night.  Needless to say, HUGE fire danger.  We had to cut the power, and black tape those two wires together, well, in that process Brian lost his light in his bathroom.  Oh well, the house is old and we knew that going into it.  After we fix everything in that house that needs to be fixed, it will be like a brand new house!  There are many things on my want-to-do list, those will come with time and money!

Anyway, I hope I get a chance to sew a little bit this weekend!  I need to go buy some thread! 

Also, I am hosting a free couponing class on April 11th.  It will be at First Baptist Church in Marlow at 1:00 pm.  This lady from Yukon will come down and teach us how to get the most out of our coupons and where to find the most valuable ones.  I am so excited!  Ya’ll are all invited!

Also, has everyone heard that they are turning the Pioneer Woman’s love story into a movie!  I am so excited for that!!  Also, did you know that she is coming to Duncan, yep, she is speaking at the DRHHF Ladies Luncheon!  And she will be signing cookbooks!  I love, love, love her cookbook, if you don’t have it, run out and get it!! NOW!

Elmo Live…

Ok, so we took the plunge and went to see Elmo Live on Sunday. We got there early and drove around the Cox Center only twice until we found the box office. We were still early so we took Gracie to Bass Pro. If you know us at all, we are not “Bass Pro” kind of people. However, we bought jerky, jerky marinade, and some really cool storage trays for my crafts, but I think they were suppose to be for fishing lures, etc… Who cares, that is what I am going to use them for, plus we bought a few extra for the men in our family, so they can use them for their nuts & bolts, fishing lures, or whatever else it is that men have a lot of. Gracie did get to see the fish in the tank, so she was excited about that. Then it was time for the show, so off we went. Got into the Cox Center, and it was absolutely freezing. We all had goose bumps, it was so cold. At one point, I think Gracie’s lips turned blue. She watched the show, and was so mesmerized by all the singing and dancing. It was so great to see her so happy!

At intermission, she looked at us, and said It’s over. She was cold and hungry, and since we won tickets instead of buying them, we left. Her attention span was lost anyway. But not before asking for a $10 mylar Elmo balloon, which I lied and said they were only for the kids on the floor seats. Of course, I got caught lying, because some idiot beside us actually paid the $10.00 for a balloon that would have cost her $2.00 at Homeland. And she bought two of them. CRAZY!!

We then went to Carlito’s in Tri-City, which was awesome, as always. You have to try it if you ever go that way, they also own Las Fajitas in Moore, same food, same great & fast service!!! Get the steak chili rellano, it is the best! (I should get free food for talking up their restaurant, no really, I should)

Oh yeah, and by the way, I got a sewing machine on Saturday, so get ready for those pictures! My aunt taught me how to make a pair of shorts!

Hello All

Well, this is the second week with Pinky, and I think we are starting to get in a routine.  I wake up an extra 20 minutes early, let her out, feed her, jump in the shower, get out, clean up poop, put on makeup, clean up pee, fix breakfast & hair, get Gracie ready, get myself dressed, let Pinky out and nothing.  Of Course not, she already went all in the house.  Today we put her in her “Cave” as Gracie calls in and we will see how she does in it.  I know, I am asking too much, she is only 7 weeks old.

Oh another note, we are going to have a full fledge fun filled weekend!  I can’t wait for Jacob’s party tomorrow, and to look at my new sewing machine, and then ELMO LIVE!!  Whoohoo!!  We will definitely have fun.

Coming Soon

Ok, so I learned how to crochet over the Thanksgiving holiday.  I mastered the scarf, and moved on to hats.  Figured those out, moved to headbands, now on to flowers and I made this little cute thing from a pattern I bought.  It is absolutely adorable on and Gracie loves hers.

I will be selling these in the next few months and of course you could always pre-order one for next winter :)  I haven’t quite figured out how to make them really fast, so it might take me a while.

Also, I am getting a sewing machine this weekend, and I am so excited!  Learning a new craft!

March of Dimes

Ok, so it is that time of year, where Gracie and I will be walking with the Caldwell Twins in the annual March of Dimes walk.  Brian is going to have to miss out again this year, because of work.  I sure hope it doesn’t rain us out like last year, so Gracie can actually go!  I walked in the pouring rain, while Gracie was at Amie’s house.  Here is my sponsor page:

Yes, her name is Princess Pinkalicious, Pinky for short.  She is a schnauzer, and is very playful!  Gracie loves to help take care of her, but she doesn’t like her biting and scratching.

4. A clean craft room with a sewing machine in it, and I need to know how to work that sewing machine. Seriously they aren’t that expensive, I want one!

I am hooked!

So, I am hooked on these spicy pretzels.  I cannot get enough of them.  I have made probably 10 freezer gallon bags of them, and share them with the girls at work.  The spicier the better!  They are super easy, and not very high in fat, I wouldn’t think.  So, here you go, try them, I dare you to just eat one!

1 bag Rold Gold Pretzel Twists
1/2 cup canola oil
1 package of Dry Ranch Dressing mix
1 tsp of garlic powder
2 T of crushed Red Pepper Flakes
**And to make it really spicy, I add
2 tsp of Cayenne Pepper-BAM!

Pour pretzels into large bowl.  Mix all other ingredients in separate bowl, whisk until mixed thoroughly, and pour over pretzels.  Toss until fully coated.  Lay out on cookie sheet to dry.  Toss every so often to make sure they are all coated.  Once fully dry, bag them up and enjoy! 

You can do this with saltine crackers as well, use 4 sleeves of crackers, and 1 full cup of oil.  After tossing in bowl, mom throws hers into an unscented garbage bag, and tosses every so often for about 2 hours until they are fully dry.  These are delicious too!

So, as of yesterday, we are on FULL Power!

Yesterday morning, at 10:00 am, the city of Marlow, turned us on full power.  I was so thankful!  We have had sporadic power since Saturday night at 11:00 pm.  We turned off the generator at 7:00 am Sunday morning.  It was so nice to not hear that thing, and have everything working great!  I was doing laundry and everything Sunday morning.  While doing that, our electricity flickered and it burned all of our elements up in our dryer.  GREAT!!  One more thing to add to the “tax money” list.  All this tax money that we might be getting is spent.  I just don’t get it, if it is not one thing it is another.  All in all this Ice Storm 2010 (Winter Wallop) is costing us some dollars!  Gas, food, dryer, what else??  Anyway, we are very thankful, that we had all the help, and shelter and heat throughout this whole ordeal.  Now we are getting ready for the next storm which I heard is coming next week! 

 

Ok, so this is getting serious…

Today is the 9th day that Marlow has been without power.  When this whole ordeal happened last week, today was the original day they were suppose to “power up” the substation.  Well, then yesterday we were told it would be Monday, because of the weather.  What flippin’ weather, rain??  Then the lovely weathermen that we have in this great state of Oklahoma, said a snow storm was coming in on Monday.  So, this morning doing my daily rounds through the internet, I see where PSO will not power up the substation until Wednesday, which means it will be 2 WEEKS WITHOUT POWER. 

Don’t get me wrong, I am very thankful and feel truly blessed, to have shelter, heat, family and health through all of this, but I just want it to be back to my NORMAL crazy life.  Gracie is ready for light in her bedroom, so she can play dolls and read books in there.  We have cords running all over our house running a lamp, fridge, tv, and depending on what time it is, one of the extension cords could be running a lamp in the kitchen, the deep freeze, Gracie’s TV, the microwave, or the toaster.  Every time I step on one of those cords, it hurts my foot, and I just want to scream.  I have only cried once, and I think I am getting delirious.  I am sleep deprived because all I can think about is something catching on fire, since we run our generator all night.  All in all, I think we have all kept a pretty good attitude, and once again, I am very thankful for the things I do have! It could always be worse!

The olden days??

 

I now know for sure that I could have survived back in the olden days, but maybe only a day or two.  So, we have been without power completely since Thursday at noon.   We have all been staying warm as best as we can.  Brian finally got a generator Friday night and plugged in our heater and fridge.  Then Saturday we plugged in the TV with the DVD player.  So, we have been watching movies non-stop.  Brian cooked a big pot of Taco soup for everyone Saturday, my sister brought beans and cornbread, and my Mom made a cake and spicy corn.  Her electricity went out at the end of the cooking time for the cake, but she just left it in the oven for a while, and it turned out delicious.  We have actually gotten to take a shower each day, and sleep in our own bed each night.  Our water pressure is slowly dying, and now I hear another storm is headed our way.  Marlow is saying that we will be without power until Friday, Awesome!  Kenna and I are at work right now, they just got power fully back on late last night.  So, we are here just for support right now.  I sent some laundry home with mom last night and she kept Gracie and Addy.  The attitudes have been for the most part great, just a little crabbiness, from boredom, I am sure.  Needless to say, we are ready for things to get back to normal, but maybe this will be a new normal.  Maybe we should turn off the TV every once in a while and let our imagination run free :)  Gracie loves to make up stories now, and we know we can find stuff for them to do!

Party in the USA

Well, Gracie went to Bootlegger camp last week, and she loved it!!  It was a dance camp, and she danced her little bootie off.  Well, they were all set to perform at half time on Tuesday night of the boy’s basketball game.  I had called everyone, told them to come and bring your cameras, you know, because she had so much fun, I just knew it was going to be a hoot!  Well, kids have different things in mind, and can quickly change their attitude!  She didn’t want to do it at all.  She cried and cried, and I forged on, if I don’t go get her she will be fine.  She went outside to practice, and they said she did great!  They came in the gym to line up and I waved at her, and she started crying and didn’t stop.  She cried the whole way through the song, but she did stay out there.  That was an accomplishment in itself!  I will spare you the details of the shaky video that I took and share with you two pictures of the aftermath.  You know, once she got off the floor, got a sucker, hugged mom & dad and quit crying…

  

Oh well, here is to next year!  At least we got a shirt!

Happy New Year!

I hope that this year finds my family with good health, and good fortune!  And of course, many blessings!  We had a great holiday!  It didn’t start off too well, but things got better as the week progressed.  Grandma Joe passed away and she will be truly missed!  We know she is not suffering anymore, but we can’t help to be selfish, and want her here with us.  Gracie got a little bug before Christmas, but nothing a shot couldn’t take of.  She talked about that shot for almost a week.  Christmas Eve brought in a blizzard.  No kidding, A BLIZZARD!!  Here in Oklahoma!  So much snow, that my brother had to come pick Gracie and I up that night, and bring the whole family home, because his truck was the only thing that could make it through it.  Mom and Ron came to get us the next day and take us to Grandma Pat’s for lunch, because there was no way my car was going to make it down there.  I have seen snow, but never have I seen it snow so much.  We still have about 1 foot of snow in our yard.  It is slowly melting, and with the Arctic front that is suppose to hit tonight, I doubt it will melt anytime soon.  The high tomorrow is suppose to be 14 degrees, not including wind chill.  That is stinking cold. 

Luckily, we got a new heater over the holiday break!  Yeah, that cost a pretty penny!!  There goes my new washer and dryer!  Poor little Gracie and I are going to freeze to death.  Brian has even mentioned being cold! 

Karen and Terry are in Minnesota and the temp there the other day was –4, now that is cold.  I wonder what it will be like when the front hits up there.  Hopefully they will get to head home on Saturday.  The doctors are doing plenty of tests on Terry, to make sure they do the right surgery and/or to make sure surgery is even necessary. 

Gracie got a Barbie 4 wheeler for Christmas, and she has only got to ride it one time, I don’t think she will get the full effect until spring time.

 

Brian and I built a Sooner Snowman with all the snow we had.  It turned out pretty cute.  Although it looks like he is frowning.

Oh yeah, Gracie learned a rock star face over the break too!  Gracie got to spend lots of time with her cousins over the break too, she loved that!

All in all, it was a great break, and I didn’t make a single hairbow or bottlecap.  I crocheted a little, but mostly just spent time with the family!

Have the Hap-Hap-Happiest Christmas, this side of the Nut House!

How in the world did our parents always make our Christmases so happy and so wonderful.  We all know they didn’t have a lot of money, and I am sure there was also something looming in the background, but no matter what we always had the best Christmas every year! 

The past two months, we have had our garage treated for termites, $300, fixed a broke dryer, $130, and now we have no heater in our house, $$$.  Our furnace went out yesterday! We decided to put in a whole new unit, but with all the money I made at the Craft show and the past few sales, every bit of it is going to this new unit!!  “Extra money” is bologna!!  There is no such thing. 

Please pray for B’s family as they are also going through a very tough time right now. 

So, this brings me to my point, I am feeling very overwhelmed right now, but I know if I don’t keep faith and be thankful that I have all my family surrounding me, and our health, then I will turn into the Grinch.  I know everything will work out because it always does, it just feels really good to get this off my chest!!  So, to get me and everyone else in the spirit, here are a few pictures from past Christmases!  Enjoy!

Things have been major busy around here…

Besides trying to get ready for the craft show, I have been trying to shop for Christmas, work, keep a house going, and spend time with my family!  Needless to say, I have been busy.  Here are a few pics of Miss Gracie

Hello everyone!

Man, a ton of people have been sick lately, it has hit a few people in my family already.  I know eventually the flute will hit our house, but I am trying to keep it away as long as I can.  We are all taking our vitamins, which Gracie loves her gummy ones.

Since everyone felt great and not a single birthday party was last weekend, we went to the Pumpkin Patch in Newcastle.  We had a great time, it was freezing and muddy, but Gracie still had a ball.  Brian’s niece, Kambree went and his Aunt Karla met us there, and they had a ball.  Walking through the corn field maze, and then the hay ride, and of course, they got to pick out a pumpkin.  Then Karla took the kids, and Brian and I went to eat lunch and went to Target.  Where I got a Starbucks coffee and just browsed through the isles, it was nice. 

I am so ready for this type of weather, it is been so nice, cuddling up on the couch under the blanket.  Although, much to everyone’s surprise, I have been freezing, I guess my hormones changed after Gracie, because I am cold all the time, so this winter might be pretty rough on me.  I hear it is supposed to be a bad and cold winter!

I need to get some shopping days planned for Christmas really soon.  Although, am I the only one who is going to have a tight, and I mean tight Christmas this year??  I am just so afraid of what the future holds, that I don’t want to spend a lot of money.  Brian and I decided to do stockings for each other and one gift with a price limit.  The rest of the Christmas money goes to Gracie.

Is anybody watching the OU/Texas game this weekend?  It starts at 11:00 and from what I hear, ESPN has picked it as their game day, so everyone in the world can watch OU get slammed by Texas.

Well, I better get back to work, I have been pretty busy this week, plus I am on call, so that always make for a long week.

Friday, Thank the lord!

I am so glad that today is Friday and this week is over.  Gracie has been waking up 2-3 times a night, with her throat hurting.  Brian and I have been crabby all week, because we are both sleep deprived, and we want Gracie to feel better.  It has not been a good week at the Webb house to say the least.  Although, tonight is Gracie’s make-up birthday party!  So, I know she will feel better for a “pupcake” for sure.  She helped me make some Fancy Nancy sticks to put in the cupcakes and I am giving the little girls jewelry to dress up with!  She is excited that she gets to wear her Fancy Nancy dress, and roast marshmallows!  We have been just chugging along this week, just trying to make it through the day.  I actually turned off the radio this morning (very unlike me) on the way to work, and listened to the silence, and prayed the whole way here to work.  I needed to hear silence this morning and reflect on my attitude this week.  I hope that everyone has a great attitude this weekend, and has a great weekend, let’s hope it doesn’t rain, because we need to get out of the house!! 

Brian and I will be celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary on the 25th!  We are going to OKC for a few days, maybe I can talk him into going to Affair of the Heart with me!  HA!

I know, I know…

I have been very busy the last few weeks at work, but I will try to be better at blogging.  We had a great Labor Day weekend, went to a family reunion, then went to the Wichita Mountains on Sunday.  We ate at Meer’s , which was an experience in itself.  We are making our monthly Target trip to get stuff for Gracie’s birthday party.  She keeps asking if her party is today.  I have to explain to her and show her on the calendar, “only a few more days!” 

I got onto her last night and, she stomped off saying “You broke my heart”  What a DRAMA QUEEN!  Wow, this is going to be a great ride, right into her teenage years.  I got my helmet on :)

 

Hello!

We had a great weekend this past weekend, went to spend some time with my Mom on Saturday and we went to visit with my sister and her kids, we had a great time all day! Sunday we worked around the house, and Gracie went with Karen and Terry for a little while to visit B’s Grandma Joe. While Gracie was gone, I was making hair bows on the couch, and I heard a bird squawking on the front porch, and he wouldn’t quit and to be honest it was getting on my nerves, so B went out to see what it was, and it was a SNAKE!! OH MY LORD, that is exactly the reason why I live in town, to get away from these creatures. Apparently, they have been coming out of the woodwork, because Kenna and Tyler killed one on there porch two weeks ago, and two sets of my neighbor’s each killed one within the last week. WHAT IS GOING ON!!! There is not much in this world that I am terrified of, and snakes are not one of them, but that doesn’t mean that I have to like them. I took pictures of the snake if anyone wants to see them, let me know and I will post them on the blog. Brian threw it in the garbage, so I hope it doesn’t give the garbage men a heart attack today!

Gracie started back to gymnastics last night, and it was her first time to go into the gym by herself. She was so proud to walk in with her friend Haylee. They stayed in there for an hour, and I think I was more nervous than she was! She did great though!
